The repubs are huge hypocrites. Setting that all aside; AC Barrett is totally unqualified for that job. But Kelley and his child abusing conserves are okay with that.
Kelley is totally ignoring that McConnell refused to allow Obama’s appointment to be heard for more than a year before the election. And then pushed through Amy’s (Master’s) appointment in record-breaking time. Without meeting at least one of the Senate committees’ own quorum requirements. It’s not about RBG at all, and anybody who’s got a half-grip on reality knows it.
Indeed, a president is president for four years, which is why it was corrupt to deny Obama’s last nominee a vote. Mitch nade stuff up about “an election year.” Then when he decided to pack the courts with as many as he could he ignored 2016 — said that was because the president and senate were from different parties. Like THAT was a rule…. this is the first time a justice was confirmed a seated AFTER voting HAD ALREADY STARTED! Frankly, I was never a fan of increasing the size of the court, but Mitch has made it necessary to save the integrity of the court and avoid minority rule.
Garland. It all comes down to Garland. If the Republican Senate did their job in 2016, there would be no issue now. They didn’t, so there is and we’ll just have to see where it goes from here. Hope it was worth it to the Republicans.
Self-serving argument…. the Republicans were hardly quoting Ginsburg when they refused to even meet Obama’s candidate, never mind hold hearings or a vote. The typical Republican narrative is to attack the other side as being exactly what they themselves are. To wit: Attack the Dems about fraudulent elections, when they themselves are the ones who are guilty of doing everything possible to make them fraudulent – openly! Attack the Dems as hypocrites for reacting to the Republicans’ hypocrisies. Butter wouldn’t melt in a Republican’s mouth!
What would prevent the GOP, should they win on Nov. 3, from “packing the court”? Just because RBG said “nine sounds like a good number”, that won’t prevent Old Snapping Turtle from trying to put more Conservative Judges on SCOTUS. If a 6-3 Conservative majority is good, I’m sure a 15-3 majority would be much better.
Nice strawman, steve.Of course dems and libs find Comey an insult to RBG’s legacy but that isn’t the complaint. The complaints are that all Republicans, including Comey, said Obama shouldn’t be allowed to nominate a SC judge in an election year and blocked Garland. In addition, Sen Mcconnel spent 6 years blocking Obama’s lower court nominees so that when a Rep was elected, they could pack the courts with conservative, partisan judges.
So, yes, while I’d personally like to see 10 year term limits for SC judges, which I’d think could get cross party support, I certainly don’t have a major problem with adding 2 judges, though I think that is a strategy that can be played by both sides.
Every notable thing about Amy Coney Barrett involves theft: her role in stealing the White House in 2000 (alongside shameful Justice Kavanaugh), her elevation to Trump’s second stolen SCOTUS seat, and the judgeship she got that was stolen from Myra Selby.
This is the latest high minded smear being waged by Dump supporters, namely that the Dems will raise the number on the court to 13 and place 4 of their ilk on it. The thing is Dems are much more respecting of law and the constitution than they are and will probably take a wait and see attitude before making even the slightest change and the court’s operations or structure. For the present, Dump’s Covid and its aftermath will take center stage for the foreseeable future.
Say What Now? Your comments are nothing short of slander and don’t belong in a cartoon’s comments. Regardless of a person’s political affiliations, you should not be calling names – shame on you!!!
RGB also said the next president should pick her successor. And any jurist would oppose a nominee who refused to answer the straightforward question of whether every American President "should make a commitment — unequivocally and resolutely — to the peaceful transfer of power”, or if the Constitution or federal law gives the President the authority to delay an election unilaterally, or if, under federal law, it is illegal for armed people intimidate voters at the polls.
So if a president is elected for four years, not three, and nine justices seems to be a good number, why were the republicans so insistent on not appointing a justice four years ago?
Kelley hopefully knows that the argument was not about RBG’s memory but rather the Traitor Turtle’s low, underhanded dealings in the way RBG was replaced. But Kelley can’t support that without showing that he too is low and underhanded so we get this BS comic instead.

SKelley is attempting to set a mark for hypocrisy, but fails at even that, since the bar is bigly high.
Meanwhile, thousands and thousands more covid deaths for SKelley and other Trump Disciples to celebrate.

-Never tried a case

-Never argued before the Supreme Court
-Never served as a judge until 2017
