My older brother and I were two grades apart; the five stepsisters had already graduated high school when Dad re-married (four years after I graduated high school).

Yeah, we brothers always find mean names for our sisters.

How did Andre sneak in there?

One new character of the gentler sex and three more offstage; could there be a fix-up in the offing, courtesy of Andre, or am I being the hopeless romantic?

Petey muses: " 4 sisters? What a nightmare! Hey! Maybe Andre has joined Ernesto from my imagination!"

Older sister, older brother in right in front of me, 2 sisters behind me. Parochial school. The nuns forget NOTHING. There were no firewalls….just a raging inferno.

“Firewall” used to mean the metal partition between the engine and the driver of the vehicle.

nice to see that Petey and Andre are still hanging out together.

My sisters were fortunate to never face a teacher that had ME in class.

My sister is a dingbat. Her husband is a cop. Family gatherings are surreal.

Dierdre is probably the fourth-grader (nine years old), since Petey and Andre are in third grade and eight years old, though I suppose she might be the sixth-grade sister (presumptive age, eleven). I am pretty sure she is not the eighth-grader.

This does help to explain Andre’s propensity to be LOUD, being surrounded by a quartet of sisters….

“I’ve got a sister in first, fourth, sixth, and eighth grades.”

“Wow. How does she attend four grades at once?”
