Last I heard, both Caltech and MIT have pumpkin drop traditions. Supercool the pumpkin in liquid nitrogen and drop it from a high place. When it shatters on the ground, the pieces flash!

The pumpkin’s probably slightly less likely to get her suspended anyway.
