I hear that Trump is trying to work out a deal to get a cut of every fee. After all, he claimed he is responsible for all their added clients! And, no he won’t be paying taxes on that either!

Bitterly ironic. The numbers of people who feel depressed are rising every day. It can be seen and heard in the kinds of things that are discussed when neighbors chat from across their yards while wearing masks. Not a normal lifestyle for the social animal in each of us. It wears on the spirit.

Supply and demand suggests the opposite. There are more people wanting to consult a therapist these days (and you’re going to do it over the phone or Zoom™ ‘cause they aren’t seeing anyone in person). Demand goes up, supply remains the same. Most of them are booked solid. More like the ads on the internet will be, “I can get you a session in as little as four months!”

It would still be a waste even at $7.25 per hour.

My therapist is working 6 days / week trying to keep up with all the people who need help. All the other therapists in town are booked solid as well.

    I haven’t really looked, but I don’t think I have ever seen a psychiatrist advertise. Shouldn’t they?

I had a therapist once. He told me I was crazy. I never went back. People tell me that all the time for free.

You know, I agree with all of you, and am married to a psychotherapist… but one of the reasons I read these faithfully is to get away from the clowns that currently lead us. As much as we can, and it’s hard: no politics here?

And yes, I just noticed I did the same political comment thing. Sorry! Sigh.

A true psychiatrist would not say, “Why do you ask?” but rather “How do you feel about that?”
