I don’t understand the big deal here about anonymous sources. There are 10 to one instances when the Hump said horrible things about soldiers and their loved ones in plain sight and sound.
In the currently climate, with all the armed red hat nuts jobs running around, stepping forward is literally dangerous. Just because it is anonymous doesn’t mean inaccurate. The statements have been verified by multiple sources other than the original. Even CROX news is validating some statements.
So, Campbell, you’re ignoring the numerous DOCUMENTED occasions on which #45 insulted the military? Just off the top of my head:
“I like people who don’t get shot down.” #45 retweeted the video of his insults of John McCain HIMSELF.
Insulting Gold Star parents.
Pardoning a MURDERER whose own TEAMMATES feared him and recommended his arrest.
Claiming he knew more than all the generals because he went to military school briefly.
Referring to STDs as “my Vietnam.”
Etc., etc., etc…the horrible thing ISN’T that #45 said these things, because they are entirely consistent with what he has said before. It’s that people haven’t been paying attention until it got to this level.
It’s notable that the talking heads on Fox Noise went straight from decrying Goldber’s anonymous sources to quoting their own anonymous sources. Besides, never forget: Goldberg knows who they are. And they know Goldberg knows. And (surprise!!) there are more sources heard from.
Besides, the barbarity and crudity of the quoted remarks are really rather tame for Trump. Someone whose very brand is crassness, vulgarity, and self-obsession can hardly be surprised when people believe such an account.
We’ve seen what Trump does to people he identifies as disloyal (AKA enemies). The reporter knows who they are, unlike a certain president that utters “many people say”, “everyone knows”, etc.
Of course we also have very good, NOT anonymous evidence that #3 (that’s one step stinkier than #2… and also the number who have ever been impeached) collaborated w/ Russia in a (successful) attempt to distort the election in 2016. And we have all kinds of other things (emoluments seems the most obvious to me) that are as plain to see as his haircut. But hey, this one seems to have some traction so we better try to nay-say it over and over and over again.
I wonder how brave a person must be to invite, with certainty, doxing, death threats, career ruination, massive vilification, etc., in Trump’s world. I further wonder if such risks are either necessary or required in the context of the enormity of the issues at hand.
Look, silly weirdos, all you need to do is watch clips of trump vomiting words and he sticks not only his feet, but everyone else’s in his own mouth. Let’s be real here. You all talk about Joe’s gaffes, but COME ON, trump can barely string real words together. Funny as fu*k…

As opposed to Trump, whose sole source of information is some guy. He wouldn’t reveal his source on the scourge of Antifa soup cans, you’ll notice.

Whom are you going to believe, anonymous sources or a serial adulteress lying rapist racist?

Just look at what happened to the careers of those who spoke up – Tiny really rewarded them for their candor.

Let’s ask Col. Alexander Vindman his thoughts on the consequences of stepping out into the daylight in a Trump administration.

What has FOX NEWS reported ? Have they reversed again? Did that lady get fired after Trump’s “Freedom of the Press” perfect phone call?

When I was writing studies and some person wanted to talk about another person or entity anonymously, I didn’t use them. It’s that simple.

Our President is a thug. It’s a simple as that. In a thuggish regime, people are afraid to speak up.

Why would anybody invite the death threats and doxing. Look what happened to Christine Blasey Ford.

Mr. Campbell, Whatever happened to “if you don’t want people reading about it in the newspaper, don’t do it”…
Also how does Reporter’s Privilege/shield laws (that exist in apparently a goodly number of states) affirm/deny this cartoon?

Anonymous sources are a lot more tangible than the imaginary ones Trump references frequently for his statements.
That’s assuming you don’t consider people who exist only inside Trump’s mind to also be anonymous sources.

So, seems Campbell is supporting #45?

Those anonymous people know all too well the danger of publicly saying anything against the chosen one.
