My good buddy, Jim “Mad Dog” Madison is right. That’s why the American electorate — at least the part of it that still retains a modicum of gray matter between its ears — needs to turn its attention to removing Republican members of Congress and the state legislatures.
World War II: election takes place; Civil War: election takes place. Tik Tok: subvert the Constitution! The only thing I’ve learned is that I can never watch a movie ever again and say, “that can’t possibly happen.”
Arianna Huffington wrote a book entitled How to Bring Down the Government, in which she outlined pretty much this very scenario. I got it from the library when it first came out, but now I cannot find a copy anyplace. Not even Abebooks has it.
UnAmerican Trump is obviously mentally ill and his policies are mass murdering Americans. Trump sides with Putin over US intelligence. Why anyone in the USA supports covid spreading Trump who is keeping the USA shut down with his aversion to testing is beyond me.
Friends, I keep trying to tell people, we need to support Democrat and Independent candidates in Kentucky. It is little help to put Joe Biden in office if Mitch McConnell is still around. The dude has DEEP pockets which will be hard to defeat. Some strong candidates in Kentucky who could use some help and do a WORLD of good.
Not counting re-elections, in which incumbents usually win, it appears that for the last several decades, as a rule, Republicans only win their first terms against the popular vote.
I no longer believe in the need to preserve a piece of property’s “rights“ over the will of the majority of people in this nation. In the end, all arguments defending the Electoral College boil down to that, the “right” of small states to overcome the more populous.
And the “faithless elector” case decided this summer, meaning that delegates to the Electoral College can no longer “vote their conscience,” has made the entire Electoral College process meaningless.
As in, why bother to vote, if you’ve already been told how to vote? Just count the points and be done with it.
And recognize that, by “winner take all – by state” is the ultimate gerrymander of all, regardless of its constitutional mandate.
So we have finally found a president and Senate that will do whatever they want, regardless of the constitution AND a constituency that doesn’t have the time or the power to stop it.

Every time I think of Trump I think of a word that starts with “F” and it isn’t “Fear”.

Just a reminder, don’t feed the Troll. If you feel a need to reply to his blathering, do it in another thread, don’t up the Troll’s reply count.

We need a Constitutional Amendment requiring Politicians to pass a Sanity Hearing before running for office.

All the rules for choosing a new president need to be changed, Trump should be drug tested.

Are we doomed?
