I’m lucky enough to have a great hardware store just a couple of blocks away. I hate having to go to “that big place” that isn’t that much farther, but doesn’t have the same kind of people behind the counter.

When the customer is this desperate, it’s time to double the price.
We used to have a store like that. It had been there for ages and you could always find that strange little part that you needed there.
We had one of those too but it burnt down and was not replaced.
I needed to replace a on-off knob on a pole lamp. I measured the thread expecting to rig something with a tiny bolt. They had the knobs in stock!
