Mr. McConnell says it might take just about forever. No need for any sense of urgency. Oh, and they’ll be taking a vacation while their constituents will be getting evicted in large numbers. I imagine Mnuchen sees another opportunity to be re-crowned “King of Foreclosures”. Throw them out, take their homes, and tell them they need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. And for some reason, 30-some percent of the population still votes for them. Oh, right…..abortion. And guns.

So, how much is a life worth? How much is a family worth? Now answer the same questions but first insert the adjective republican. It shouldn’t make a difference, but it does, doesn’t it.?

With no “southern parts” on that great beast, I would assume that it has never “gone”. That would necessarily mean then, that the great Republican beast is 100% full of s#*t…would it not?

Truly telling. The nation has fallen into this morass through governmental inaction. Now they are willing to let people suffer in an economy which is spinning its wheels. Must be nice to be in Congress with a steady paycheck, health care, etc.

Republican Philosophy: Free stuff is only for people who don’t need it. Massive tax cuts for the 1%? No problem.

Got it wrong. Not 2 heads pulling, but 2 rears pushing. With Mitch behind 1, Lindsey the other.

Included in the GOP proposal is Mitt Romney’s ‘TRUST’ act. It calls for financial solvency of Social Security and Medicare. To make it solvent they propose cutting benefits by an average of 24%.

The much needed additional money could be coming in 8 to 20 weeks. So you in the 1% bracket do your best to survive until it arrives.

The Economist reports that 75% of those getting the extra $600 a week are taking home more than they did when working. [11 Jul 20]. The GOP idea to cap the benefit over a base amount at 70% of former take home pay is logical to all intelligent people. It also makes sense not to give the trial lawyers a commission windfall for filing frivolous flu cases against businesses en masse. However, the GOP bill does not go far enough in protecting the millions that have been deeply hurt, nor should its legal liability protection extend to packing plants that callously infected their workers.

In whatever they propose, look for the tax break for the 1%. It’s in there. They always take care of themselves and their donors. Always.

What the hell is Mnuchin doing pushing the WH agenda to Congress. His job as Treasury Secretary is to make sure his agency follows the laws passed by Congress in administering the monies in their control. He should not be interfering in the legislative process!

One thing I heard was to cut out the unemployment supplement entirely. Another was $100 per week. The one that seems to have to most traction right not is 70% of your last wages. What if the 70% of your last wages is more than the Benefit + $600 that was paid last month?

The Republicans aren’t worried. In November they will blame everything on liberals, and get re-elected.
