That’s the case with or without TikTok. Facial recognition software is the current chapter in the Brave New World.

China’s been able to watch us whenever they want anyway. Might as well have some fun while they’re staring at us.

Does Ramirez think that somehow TikTok will be the last thing anybody uses for social media sharing? Probably not, if he’s thought about it at all. Are you still using the social site you started with? Are your (grand)kids? Thereyago.

Having monopolies/oligopolies in hardware/software makes it easy for hackers and too many US organizations are lax on security.

If you simply must have and/or use the latest thing out there, you are an idiot. Especially if you think that they are creating things out of the “goodness of their hearts”. Some people actually do enjoy doing good deeds, but most of them are only interested in what they can personally get out of it or in the damage they can create.

Wasn’t it the TikTok users who pranked the Tulsa Extravaganza by faking requests for tickets?

The way the GOP beats up on China, you would think they are Democrats.

Not at all like Google.. Face Book.. Apple or Twitter. Seems every app you install requires releasing personal information.. and this doesn’t even include data collected just by carrying/using your cell phone. Big Brother is everywhere.. but “this Tik Tok” thing is just another attempt by the Republicans to scare folk..

I am amazed at the organizations allowing staff to install any programs they wish on work computers. Talk about security risks for introducing viruses and potentially opening up data to be compromised. As a Network Admin for many years, that was a big no no.

Since I avoid social media like the plague (sorry…), I do not know what tiktok is or how it works, nor do i really care. Feel free to educate me, but keep it down to a couple of replies.

Trump’s interpretation of the 1st Amendment is that it gives him the ultimate right to ban and censor communications channels…

tRump’s retaliation move on TikTok. Why? His failed Tulsa rally. He got “TikTokked!”

There is a business opportunity for “Incompetent President Insurance” where the insurer would do their best to discourage the political parties from allowing/running inept/corrupt/inexperienced candidates and the insured could insure themselves against whatever financial damage that an incompetent leader could cause.

The Republican Party already has a policy that has the opposite effect called “Incompetent President Assurance” that seeks out individuals and countries to blame when bad presidents fail.

As opposed to what Facebook does? I’m not sure the CCP cares about teenage girls dancing, but I hear the Conway family feud is trending.

I doubt China will gather much information from braless teen girls twerking and lamenting their social existence.

Yes, the United States would never surveil its citizens or those of other nations. The United States are the “good guys”, obviously.
