    Opal’s statement even surprised Roscoe.

If Roscoe was a pointer, he might be able to point to whatever object she used as a password.

Having lived through that nightmare, I now have a simple system. I have a password manager. It knows how to create new passwords and I never have to even have a slight clue what they are. Though I mostly use my computer to do password manipulation, so mostly the phone just catches up the next time I connect. I know: More people than not use their phones for everything. Whatever. I’m a dinosaur.

I’ve been forced to change my passwords so many times, the only thing I’m absolute sure of anymore is that they all contain my sentiments at the time I made them up — so there will be expletives in them.

The last one that didn’t contain a swear word was “Okay,nowTHISisgetting#ridiculous227”. Whatever website it was for rated that one as “green, highest security rating”…and then three days later made me change it again.

On my job we had to change our passwords monthly, pretty hard thinking of new ones all the time!

On my job, a new pair of passwords quarterly. I write each down on my locker door. Non critical security, one’s for my training file, the other email which I only check when booking vacations. Eight characters, upper and lower case and including a number, none similar to previous. So no harm in saying my last, now expired, was Y0gibear.

I would say to write it down somewhere; but knowing Opal, she probably would forget where she wrote it down…

I have a stand alone password manager separate from my computer. It’s a RecZone Password Safe and it contains all necessary information for each site or app. It has a flash drive-type memory, so I don’t lose anything when I change the batteries. I have only 1 password to remember and it takes care of the 159 others that are currently stored in the memory. (I got it on Amazon if anyone is interested.)

Anyone else notice that the level of internet security is inversely proportional to the sensitivity of the information? My grocery store coupons are far better protected than my bank accounts!
