Every negative comment about fireworks on the local FB page will have a whole bunch going on about “rights” and others who hate them being buzzkills. I’m guessing they’re the same group who refuse to wear a mask because…rights.
I’ve never understood the July 4th thing… not totally. I get that it’s when the Declaration was signed but the Revolutionary War didn’t actually end until 3 September 1783. To me, that’s the day we actually achieved independence, not when we said we want it. But, that’s just my opinion.
For some reason, I seem to be liking the earlier Frazz strips more. The recent ones seem overly…complicated. Now, I’m not gonna stop reading it, It’s a great strip. I am just stating my opinion.

I kid. Really, I like the Independence Day holiday just where it is. Memorial Day begins summer and Labor Day ends it. July the Fourth reminds us that summer is half over. But it’s not actually half over. There’s still plenty of tome to enjoy it. So get started.
There is a video circulating on You Tube about someone shooting off fireworks and one goes through the window into his house without him knowing about it. He has no clue until flames start roaring out the window. There is no audio, but you know there has to be a “Hey y’all, hold my beer and watch this!” in there somewhere.
My Sister turns 75 today.She was in a nursing home,for rehab.Just got home Tuesday.Her virus test was negative.I still haven’t been tested.Be kind to one another,folks.Life is too short.Happy Fourth all ;)
The Continental Congress voted for independence on July 2. They adopted the formal wording of the declaration on July 4 (after it had come back from the editing committee and printer), and most of the delegates signed it then. But the last signature wasn’t affixed until November. As a matter of law, the adoption of the Lee Resolution on July 2 was the official act that made America an independent nation; the rest was just window dressing.
