That we can measure and record the disastrous trend yet do nothing to prevent our habitat from being destroyed shows how unfit our current governments are to manage such a beautiful planet.

Human hordes now alive are

Between alternatives torn.

We must make the decision

Affecting those young and yet born:

Preserve precious resources,

Or them destroy bit by bit;

Keep Earth’s diverse life forms,

Or terracide to commit?

Will we trip planet defenses

That protect this blue orb,

Therefore make them react and

Us all to destroy and absorb?

It’s not too late to vote as if

Whom we elect to us guide

Will turn things right around —

Or let evolution backslide.

In the blink of Man’s eye;

Yet in planet-life terms,

It’s a mere mayfly’s good-bye.

Make the important decision:

Change humankind’s wastrel ways —

Or face coming excision.

Remember the good old days when Tom Steyer warned us about climate change being our greatest challenge?

If only it were so.

Lest we forget the OTHER existential threat to the planet…..

Having witnessed what a modest reduction of the economy can do regarding the climate.. I doubt folk would be happy doing what is really required to make a substantial long term change.

And just what are we going to do about it? There are a few races with excellent candidates, but most are like the presidential race; one candidate with a lead foot racing us to extinction, and one candidate who is just cruising along at highway speed to that same extinction. Of course, you could vote Green Party, but that would be “throwing your vote away”.

I wish we had a Parliament sometimes, Trump would not survive a vote of confidence.

Yes, vote Democrat – like Minneapolis, Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit and the other well run, safe Democrat cities with great police and schools.

Wasn’t it Winston Churchill who remarked that you can always count on the Americans to do the right thing … after they’ve tried everything else?

Is that the big BLUE WAVE ? Only Republicans need to fear that.
