I’m still amazed Amend’s editor let this one through. I guess he was impressed by the size of Amend’s brass… monkey.

@baslim, actually, if you have “equipment” inside the strike zone, and it gets hit, it’s a strike. The pitcher has the entire area of the strike zone to himself, otherwise batters would just stick nonessential body parts in there to get it.

As an umpire, when I have to make that call, I am always prepared for the explanation to the batters coach (especially if that makes it strike 3). Funny thing, I’ve never had to call the same thing twice in one game.

Goes well with the most recent AFHV $100000 winner – two little boys testing their cups! Made for a somewhat awkward winner interview…

Me when I was in grade school and had to line up to bat several of us would try to be last. Teacher then had last to be first. I didn’t like baseball at all. I can see but fast thrown balls would be hard for me to detect.
