I actually skipped my high school graduation. Didn’t see the point. I dropped by the school later and picked up the diploma. If they had an online ceremony, even more reason to skip it.
That is how the class of 2021 may spend its senior year and collegiate education, and how the high school class of 2033 may spend its entire educational career.
Many of the schools in this area will have a ceremony: it may be in the fall, but they will have it. Meanwhile one of our local TV stations has been showing pictures of local seniors. They wanted candid, not professional pictures. I think they are counting it against their public service budget.
It’s probably “jokes” like this that led President Trump to order all of the West Point seniors back for their graduation ceremony. (Meanwhile, the Coast Guard Academy is having a “virtual” ceremony later this week.)

I’m going to go way out on a limb here and guess that 80% of this year’s graduates will decide to stay in school anyway.

My granddaughter is getting her diploma in the mail!! No prom, no graduation ceremony, no goodbyes. Very sad.

Having just sat through an online ceremony, I find nothing funny in this comic. Or even particularly observant. What’s the point?
