Poor Satch! Most dogs would be happy to lick it up off the floor. But Satchel feels that it needs to be reporteded, urgently.

I don’t see the problem here. Satchel regularly eats stuff off the ground … even gross stuff. Satchel doesn’t have a 5 second rule … more like a 5 week rule!

Not to worry. The numbers only go up to 3 anyway.

On the door, I love the Massachusetts plate with Satchel’s name on it.

Oh, for the love of…Dog Up! You’ve eaten worse off of the floor.

Oh come on dog, you’d lick it up off the floor. Not to mention everything else you put in your mouth and swallow. Sheesh.

Of course the ice cream is still edible after it fell on the floor. That doesn’t have anything to do with the fact that an accident occurred and has to be noted.

Does anyone know the date of the last newly written strip? I recall it wasnt too long ago there would be occasional Sunday new strips.

I live across the street from a grammar school. I also owned a very friendly beagle who used to get out and go play with the kids. One day she came home with an ice cream cone with a scoop of ice cream on it.

I picked up a fallen ice cream cone when I was three – made mistake of doing it in front of my mother.

Being a dog, that last panel could stand on its own.

For someone who will eat an old boot and a blob of rotting offal from the street, he has suddenly become very finicky.

I’m reminded of that tragically accurate quote: Age does not diminish the extreme disappointment of having a scoop of ice cream fall from the cone.

I know Conley doesn’t have a cat but this looks like he doesn’t have a dog. For the entirety of their domestication, dogs have subsisted on “dropped on the floor”.

Satch after the things you have eaten licking Ice Cream off the floor wouldn’t even be on the list of disgusting things.

That was not a mistake Puppy Love. It was a necessary educational process that WE ALL needed to go through at one time. Be of good cheer.

Dogs sometimes look guilty even when they’ve done absolutely nothing wrong. :(
