Phil Hands for April 22, 2020

As is so often the case, I’ll be voting for the least-worst option. At least I won’t have to hold my nose while I color in the oval by his name.

*Will listen to the experts.

That’s how low the bar is right now. All any candidate needs is that one single “pro”.

Won’t appoint family and sycophants to Cabinet and important positions.

Won’t bilk the US taxpayer out of millions by staying at self-owned properties every (long) weekend.

Will actually listen and consult experts in matters that need attention, and allow them to do their jobs.

Won’t go out on “I love me” rallies every week.

More lucid and coherent than current occupant of the White House.

Won’t go on TV every chance he gets to brag about himself and lie about his accomplishments.

Not a complete failure as a “human being”…

Also:

Not a Traitor

Not a crime boss

Not a p*ssy grabber

Not massively corrupt

Not in love with Kim

Not in love with Putin

Not the Best Negotiator in Human History who cannot negotiate with the Speaker of the House

does Not destroy pandemic response structures

does Not take away people’s health care

does Not lock children in cages

does Not pardon military criminals and reinstate them

does Not fire navy commanders for stating the obvious

That one pro should be enough for anyone who has any common sense.

At least with Joe as president I won’t have to gag every time I see Trump on TV. Then we he starts to actually speak that’s when I vomit profusely! Joe will at least have enough smart people around him to handle the really big stuff unlike the idiots Trump picks out, and old Joe can handle the rest as America works to recover from the Trump Pandemic years. Glad that will soon be over come November.

Another “pro” is that Biden smiling. Ever see Trump smile? Huh?

He was in charge of getting us out of the last Great Recession and did it. That’s good enough for me.

Not articulate? Have you heard Trump spewing out a statement?

And while we’re at it, women’s personal space? Does that include the dressing room at miss Teen USA? Or any of the dozens that have accused Trump of sexual assault?

Looking down Phil’s list of cons. To be brutally honest, most of them apply to me as well.

When we go to measure our candidates this year, the yardstick doesn’t need to be very long.

Trump/Not Trump seems to do the job.

The responsibilities and complexities of the presidency are far too complex and broad of scope for any single person to be good at it without good, even great, people around them. In order to succeed as president, a person has to be able to pick trustworthy experts (people who will stand up and say what needs to be said, rather than what they think will please), has to listen to those experts, has to understand and live the principles of truth, justice, and level playing fields, and has to be moral enough to pick out the options most likely to benefit the most Americans and indeed (as leader of the most powerful country on Earth) the people of the world.

I pray that Biden is such a person. I believe he is.

Trump, Pence, and the people associated with Trump have proven that they are not.

Yup. Got my vote. That’s how powerful that one Pro is.

Voting Blue, no matter who. Trump is the most evil president in history, he needs to be removed now.

In a nutshell: When Hair Groppenfuror was watching 16-year-old daughter Ivanka host the 1997 Miss Teen USA pageant, he turned to the then-Miss Universe and asked: “Don’t you think my daughter’s hot? She’s hot, right?”

The “Pros” are ALL I NEED TO SUPPORT HIM!

Biden wasn’t my first choice, but he’s shown some admirable traits in his own right. He’s also moved his platform substantially further left.

- He’s apologized for the anti-immigration policies under Obama and is committed to change them.

- He has called for student loan forgiveness, and has built some student help into his platform. Not as strongly as Warren or Sanders, but significant

- He wants to build on Obamacare instead of tearing it down, and add a “public option” that would finally enable ALL Americans to have some insurance.

- He’s committed himself to having a female running mate.

And, of course, he’s LIGHT-YEARS ahead of #45 just as a human being, since he’s not a malignant narcissist and sociopath who cares more about his ratings than the lives of his followers, let alone the rest of the country.

It’s Cute that Phil thinks that there is going to be an election, or an election that Biden has a chance of winning?

The Repub Governors are going to close polling places in every urban city in Florida, Iowa, Ohio Tennessee Texas and New Hampshire. The Supreme court has already decided that the tactic is legal.

Trump has already joked about being “President for Life” and that is his style. He jokes until he thinks he has enough support to stop joking about it.

We.. are to compare “articulate” and “coherence” with trump? Good Lord.. have you not heard trump speak.. sheesh

Seems like the choices for President get worse with almost every election. I hope this stuff is cyclical and starts trending in the other direction soon.

No need to reply with an anti-republican rant…I know what you think already :)

Like all political parties, there are various factions. The progressive wing is young, diverse, loud and a minority of the caucus. Funny how their opposite in the GOP, the right wing conservatives are old, white and do their nasty dealings in the dark.

Joe is not my first choice (Amy is) but he’ll provide a bridge back to sanity in the Oval Office.

As much as I disapprove of Biden… and the Dems for pushing him though… fact is they could have nominated rock and I (like most progressives) would ultimately vote for it.

“This election is between A. Trump and B. " " B! … I choose B"

We will continue our beef with the establishment Dems later. But its not the progressives that are the issue. A lot of Bernie supporters were neither Progressive nor Democrat… They were tired of the same old same old politicians and were refreshingly amazed to finally see a candidate with integrity, passion and compassion… those are the ones we need to worry about losing.

Pro: Will be picking the next Supreme Court judge!

Pro: Exponentially more competent, more honest, more intelligent, more empathetic, more patriotic than the current Resident.

Another pro is that I can’t see a personality cult forming around Biden.

Vote for science and capitalism; Vote Biden !

More than enough good reasons for me.
