She has the menacing stare? Did she find that book in the “How-To” section?

If she’s half-way or more through the book, forget it. Better than suggesting something like Shel Silverstein, how about suggesting some classic literature. She might love Jane Eyre or Wuthering Heights, for example. I know I did….

Let her do as she wants. Why bother? Right, Adam?

It was implied in an earlier comic that she had either seen the movie The Silence of the Lambs, or possibly read the book. I don’t think that Shel Silverstein is going to undo any damage at this point.

Once the computer mind ingests dark knowledge data the flood gate of possibilities is open and we can only hope the base line operating system is wired to do good.

Who is the parent and who is the child. They obviously can get that book away from Katy if they would just realize they are a lot bigger than her.

I was traumatized by The Little Prince as a child. I don’t understand it being thought of as a kid’s book. And I read Alive at around the same age.

I’m gonna have to side with the parents on this one. I just remembered the scene with Sonny and the bridesmaid. She is still tad young for that particular bit of biology lesson.

Let the poor kid read what she likes. I read everything I had the urge to read, including comic books. I still love to read, and T.V. is a poor substitute. Let her grow up already. Don’t try to force your tastes on others.

As a protective parent you have the urge to just grab it out of her hands and say she’s to young to read it yet. That will immediately trigger her to object and she’ll find a way to sneak read it somehow just to show you. I’m sure she could read it online somewhere and you’d never know unless you monitor her activities online, which you should. I would like to know how she got her hands on it in the first place. If they’d laid out clear rules about what she can read that’s age appropriate this may not have happened. I’d sit her down and explain the book to her in a way she can understand it and tell her she can have her own copy of it when she’s older. Take the book away, and scour your bookshelves for any other inappropriate reading materials.
