The insurance industry won’t be unhappy. They get to deny coverage when people lose their jobs and mark my words the Government is going to pay the bill for the hundreds of thousands of people that get sick. That way that no one has to fight in court about if this is a workers compensations / Occupations illness issue.
The Kennedy Center is getting $25 million in relief funds. The members of the National Symphony Orchestra have been notified that their last pay check will be Apr. 3, and that their health care coverage is likely ending at the end of May.
Republicans don’t care about the homeless, they helped to create them.
The rich have shipped jobs overseas, they raised the rents, they took away food stamps, and raised grocery prices, they took away Medicare and Medicaid and raised the price of medicine.
The Republicans put tax breaks for the rich in their corona virus program.
All over America there are vacant second homes and houses for sale.
This is war. The President said so. I hereby authorize all homeless people to find one of those roofs and get under it. Soon, if not today, the cops will be too busy to mess with you as long as you don’t set it on fire. Even if the power and water are off, it beats a doorway.
Stay out of the shelters. You might as well lick a doorknob. Take care of yourselves and [deleted] those rich yuppie trash.
Now that argument about not having healthcare tied to one having a job makes so much more sense unless you’re a Republican or Corporate Blue Dog Democrat.
Maybe looking at people as beings deserving of universal health care, and a decent standard of living because they simply are human, is far better than judging them “worthy” or “not worthy” because of employment status, religious viewpoints, race, or sexuality.
Trump’s attempt to improve perceptions of his response by depicting the pandemic as a shock to everyone is just one of numerous ways he has dishonestly described the crisis.Trump claimed Saturday that the situation has been “urgent for me” from the very beginning, citing his late-January decision to restrict travel from China.
But Trump downplayed the severity of the issues facing the US long after that — even as experts were issuing the warnings Trump is now saying did not happen.Almost two months ago, experts were saying that the new virus in Wuhan was potentially a global threat.. One month ago, experts were saying that it was likely to be pandemic, and the White House’s response was that this was under control, despite the fact that the US’s lack of testing was demonstrably giving a false picture of the extent of infection. After all, you can have a confirmed case without a test, which requires a test that isn’t available.
Jeremy Konyndyk, who served under former President Barack Obama as director of the US Agency for International Development’s Office of US Foreign Disaster Assistance, wrote during the first two months of Trump’s presidency in 2017 about what he argued was Trump’s unpreparedness for the pandemic he warned could be coming. “A major new global health crisis is a question of when, not if,” he wrote in Politico.John Bolton, then Trump’s national security adviser, disbanded the team during a reorganization of the NSC. Bolton tweeted Saturday that it’s “false” that his “streamlining” hurt the country’s “bio defense.” Trump disavowed responsibility on Friday, March 13th for the NSC changes, saying, “I didn’t do it” and “I don’t know anything about it” — though he conceded that “the administration” did. Trump is either responsible or irresponsible. This is his fault. The Trump Plague is his.

“Sparrow”
Who will love a little Sparrow
Who’s traveled far and cries for rest?
“Not I,” said the Oak Tree
“I won’t share my branches with no sparrow’s nest
And my blanket of leaves won’t warm her cold breast”
.
Who will love a little Sparrow
And who will speak a kindly word?
“Not I,” said the Swan
“The entire idea is utterly absurd
I’d be laughed at and scorned if the other Swans heard”
.
And who will take pity in his heart
And who will feed a starving Sparrow?
“Not I,” said the Golden Wheat
“I would if I could, but I cannot, I know
I need all my grain to prosper and grow”
.
Who will love a little Sparrow?
Will no one write her eulogy?
“I will,” said the Earth
“For all I’ve created returns unto me
From dust were ye made and dust ye shall be”

Not the plague from China, nor the plage from Europe – it’s now become Trump’s Plague due to inattention.
