Oh the rumor mill and gossips are working overtime today John.

Jean doesn’t know “she” and “her” referred to Fiona and not Elly. John’s fault. He failed to explain why he rented the apartment. He let Jean assume and run with her imagination – and to gossip.

Confession is good for the soul, Jean. Of course she doesn’t feel the need to confess…

I one monologue interpreted as two totally different monologues

What we have here—-is failure to communicate!

So this woman is not bright. Didn’t John just mention Fiona and how much trouble she’s been for the family to his assistant the other day? She knew he was getting the apartment for her even if he didn’t clarify it was Fiona. You would think she would be smarter than this.

I’m just glad Jon finally had the “corjones” to step up and do what he needed to do!

I would bet this is based on a real event.

Semantics is everything. This morning I mentioned to my daughters something funny my boss did at work. One of my daughters said, “Ah…friends!” I said, “Technically, we’re not friends; he pays me to be with him.” Can you imagine if someone overheard THAT statement? LOL (I immediately followed it with, “That did NOT come out the way I meant it!”)

This is SOOOOO funny! :)

Lynn’s Comments:

Here, the gossip machine works against an innocent guy. In a television series, writers could spin out this situation for weeks!

This would all be cute and funny if not for the knowledge that IRL he eventually did dump her.

that’s what happens when you leave the most important details out of a story.

This only works if John never told Jean about the Fiona nightmare, and then assumed she knew all about it.

This sort of misunderstanding has been the basis of many a comedy sitcom in the past. Always funny.

ugh. I hope we get over this storyline soon.

Just the other day I caught the old “Three’s Company” on Antenna TV and this kind of plot happens there every time: someone jumping to a conclusion because they overhear a conversation and hilarity ensues…That’s what happened here and it is funny, if you go back to late April and May 1991 and read it without pauses …. the whole story is really funny …

My mom was like that — using pronouns in a way that you had no idea to whom she was referring.

Jean…if you ONLY knew John’s side of the story!!
