1. Lots of tests being rolled out as quickly as possible
2. Scientists leading the strategy to manage this pandemic
3. Universal healthcare to manage the effort to test and treat as many people as possible, as quickly as possible (instead of people working sick because they have no choice)
4. Funding to enable people to self-isolate who otherwise could not do so to support the people who keep our society going but who are also most vulnerable to stopping work (meaning they will work sick because they have no choice, and infect more)
WHAT WE ARE GETTING
1. Lies about “everyone will get tests” from #45. We have tested only a few thousand.
2. Scientists being suppressed, and forbidden to speak without a Republican commissar’s permission – which they are not getting, and the effort led by an idiot who doesn’t believe in evolution, which means he cannot understand the nature of this threat.
3. A patchwork of overpriced and inadequate insurance plans.
4. A vague proposed “payroll tax cut” which will do nothing (you can’t cut taxes on pay you don’t get because you can’t work) and a bunch of industry tax cuts that aren’t necessary – including for the hospitality industry (including #45’s personal businesses, remember?)
Trump has ignored the so-called scientists and analyzed the situation with his superior intellect (located in his gut). And now we know, as we always have the the true threat to this country for the spread of COVID-19 is the same threat to this country for everything else: FOREIGNERS. We must ban them immediately (except the UK, because, well, mini-me is there).
Stiffly, stiffly, he uttered the words on the teleprompter – stiffly, stiffly with no apparent understanding of those words and didn’t even get all the words right – never looking at the camera. It is bigly good to have staff to make the corrections after the speech and to explain what you really meant.
As Eldo said on another comic…..Tom Hanks and his wife contracted the Coronavirus, but luckily for them they were in Australia where they got tested and treated right away.
“Vice President Mike Pence said Thursday that there has been ‘irresponsible rhetoric’ from people who have downplayed the seriousness of the U.S. coronavirus outbreak. In an interview on the TODAY show, Savannah Guthrie asked what message Pence sends to people who aren’t afraid of the coronavirus and think it’s just politics and hype, quoting from President Donald Trump on Monday that the ‘fake news media and their partner, the Democrat Party, is doing everything to inflame the coronavirus situation.’ ‘Well, obviously there’s been some irresponsible rhetoric,’ Pence said without directly naming Trump.” (https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/pence-says-theres-been-irresponsible-rhetoric-from-people-downplaying-the-coronavirus/ar-BB115OiW)
“Not even a burglar could have said that better.” Mark Twain.
The problem with having an incompetent “leader” is now becoming entirely apparent, even to those who haven’t already noticed. I suppose we can hope that the ones who still don’t get it will die off a mite sooner than the rest of us, but I’m not sanguine.

If there were ever a convincing example of why we need a system of national health care, this is it!
