Jim Davis has done a few strips where Garfield burps, but I’ve never seen one where that cat passes air.

Normally I would treat a burp joke like a fart joke: with contempt. But panel 3 is just so manic, I just gotta love it.

That reminds me of my brother-in-law way back when he was 14 or so.

First warm day of the season called for a beer, so halfway through had a most rip-roaring and satisfying belch.

My sister, who refers to herself as a lady, loves to burp like that in front of me. I always “bless” her as that must’ve been a sneeze and not a burp as she is a lady. I know this to be true because she told me so…

If Garfield and Calvin got into a burping contest, odds are that Garfield would beat the pants off of Calvin hands down.

Makes it even more clear that Garfield is a male cat! (Not that we had any doubt, mind you.) However, my son tells me I can belch with the best of them! (Shameful, I know.)

When I was in college there was a guy in my dorm who could belch loud enough to be heard 2 or 3 floors away.
