Either THAT, or he slammed on the “brakes” too hard.

    Perfection takes time.

    (I’m not quite there myself.)

Or he forgot to buy shoelaces for his skates. Or are they called skate laces?

Pretty impressive that he fell forward. Well, he was momentum-ed forward i suppose. Mostly, I fall the other way. Far less dignified and almost no sympathy what so ever.

Skates were to big. Need to be a size smaller than your regular shoe size especially with rented skates.

LOL! (should be in bigger letters) I keep all these about sports mishaps: pull them out when ever some idjit gets going about how wunnerful sports are. . .bending down and smelling the daisies or making lemonade from life’s lemons is enough for me.

No such thing. Blame the skater not the skates.

Personally, I have no idea why this is funny. We don’t allow ice on our lakes here; makes boating and bass fishing difficult. (Georgia).

Good thing he didn’t try a figure 8. He might have gone through the ice.

Why do I get the feeling most of the people here don’t understand what a sharpened skate is?

I HATE when my sharpener makes the blades too sharp or the hollow too deep! Takes a long time to “dull them down”….at least a few hours or days. Most of us will scrape the edges of the blades a few times against the ice or on the plastic step where you step onto the ice. Sort of crazy….newly sharpened blades that need to be “dulled down”, but it happens when a sharpener doesn’t quite know how to hone it properly. When they are super sharp, you cannot skid to a stop and that’s what you want. When you are skating fast, you cannot stop on a dime; you must SKID. Otherwise, you will have a situation as above. OR you will just have to allow yourself to crash into the boards to stop! (I’ve used that method). LOL
