Ides of March. Pi Day. St Pat’s. Now if we’re talking holiday deserts, let’s discuss August.

August is its own kind of holiday.

The best benefit of St Patrick’s Day is reserved for adults.

Holiday desert? Excuse me?? March, the home International Fanny Pack Day (March 14)? The International Day of Awesomeness (March 10)? International Sports Car Racing Day (March 22)? Take a Walk in the Park Day(March 30)? THAT March?

Not to mention the March Hare and all singing “A very happy un-birthday”

Too bad all the schools are closed, I went to Catholic school, St Patrick’s day was a big deal!

You just reminded me of Thin Mints on the shelf.

Well a lot of states have closed schools now so yes you do get a day off … fer now…

You can’t go wrong with minty treats—-I don’t think.

Growing up, I knew a boy named Patrick who had younger siblings. For several years, those siblings convinced their parents to throw Patrick a huge party (among other things) to “celebrate Patrick on Patrick’s day!” Yeah, Patrick loved that holiday!

Go Green!

Then there is the command—March forth.

Meh.

I see Bryson Elementary doesn’t have the budget to replace wire reinforced glass panes… accident waiting to happen!

Yay for minty treats. And Guinness.

Or bourbon/whiskey treats…

Everyone is getting treated like leper cons today. No closer than six feet please.

As a teen I started working at McDonald’s just before St. Patrick’s Day and my first task was making shamrock shakes. Until you get the hang of it, you tend to fling shake mix everywhere, including across your chest. It took several days before the nightmares of drowning in green shake mix stopped.

Odd: Ever notice that the original Armistice Day was 11/11, we all remember 9/11, and there’s a chain of convenience stores named 7/11, but nobody ever gives a shit about 5/11?

Forget that guy that did something with snakes. Let’s celebrate the real heroine of the day — St. Gertrude, Patron Saint of Cats.

My birthday is in March.

I really hated St. Patrick’s Day. Kids would pinch you if you weren’t wearing green. I bet that’s not allowed any longer.

I sure hope it isn’t. It was an intimidating and unkind, if somewhat mild and limited, form of bullying.

Frazz18 hrs · Boy, if this cartoon gig doesn’t work out, it sure doesn’t look like fortune telling is going to be an option. Everybody does get today off school, but it sure isn’t a vacation. And the idea is very clearly to not exchange certain things.But it is St. Patrick’s Day. Not that it’s going to be really easy to tell.
