Well, if you’re a pre-verbal kid, who better to set up something specific like a five-cent bet on a particular game with a dog who also can’t talk?

Like Scoutmaster, I have to wonder who squealed. Who COULD squeal?

OK, Here’s the answer to “Who squealed”. It was a parent. I envision it went like this:

A parent sees Snoopy and Rerun and is thinking: "That’s strange. Why is a dog reaching into his pocket, (dogs have pockets?) and giving that baby a nickel? (Dogs have money?) It has to be that he’s paying off a bet! OMG! THIS IS HORRIBLE! NO WONDER MY BOY’S TEAM LOST. IT’S THE ONLY EXPLANATION! I’VE GOT TO REPORT THIS TO THE LEAGUE PRESIDENT RIGHT AWAY.

Yeah … another year of not forgiving, forgetting, and putting Pete Rose in Cooperstown … :/
