Opal, it takes less than five minutes to find the sewing box, thread, thread theneedle and sew on the button and put everything back. Just do it and get Earl off your back.

Opal just likes to throw some shade at Earl.

    She is very passive aggressive.

Make a deal with Earl, Opal: you’ll sew the button when he fixes the kitchen sink’s garbage disposal (or any other task you’ve been hounding him about).

While he’s waiting for the button, he can wear the shirt that’s too tight in the belly.

As a pragmatist, I agree with her. Grease it once. Maybe twice. Then get an upgraded component.

Damn! I should have put the date on that one when I created it, some years ago…Falk’s Twenty-Sixth Law:“They Say “The Squeaky Wheel is the One That Gets the Grease” ?

….Nope: The Squeaky Wheel Is Usually The One That Gets Replaced"Been there, had that done to me…

Speaking of ‘replace’, I really should read a strip other than THIS one…

Earl could do it too. It is his shirt.

All Earl needs to do is just wear the shirt. Seeing him wear it despite the missing button would drive Opal crazy.

Getting feisty there Opal? This reminds me of the joke I have seen several times: “When a man says he will fix something he will fix it. There is no need to remind him every six months.” Guess this is the female version of it.

Sometimes the squeaky wheel gets the grease, sometimes it gets greased!

My Master Chief first told me that in 1976, it was often very true. At least in the USN.
