margueritem. Why is your avatar a question mark? I’ve seen a few others with the same ? avatar. What’s going on? Are you protesting something?

Judy, there is something wrong with the avatar set up. UClick is supposedly working on it.

GoComics is now updating everybody to their new existentialist avatars. Margueritem is one of the beta testers.

Thank you Teresa, for publicizing one battle and one warrior in the war that is near and dear to my heart:

Regarding California’s prohibition on giving babies names that contain diacritical marks…

I wonder how :David-Wynn: Miller would feel about that? :David-Wynn: Miller is, of course, the tax protester and rogue grammarian whose incomprehensible teachings formed the basis of Arizona gunman Jared Lee Loughner’s political beliefs.

:David-Wynn: Miller asserts that if you put colons and dashes in your name, the government will lose the right to tax you. Read all about his brilliant ideas here:

People have been doing bizarre things with language long before Miller.

    For fun

For crazy Wydner has been known as a whack-job since the 70’s; I worked for a competing automated translation research concern, and this dude is so far out in left field that he’s actually in right field. (The universe is curved, you know…)

The best thing about the belly bump clip is the last fraction of a second where you start to see the reactions…

“The Bad Seed”? Has anyone else noticed that the adults in that one are nuttier than the kid?

I’m sure Chevron wishes Maria Aguinda had “behaved.” Just as I’m sure Henry II wished Eleanor of Aquitaine had behaved.

Margueritem, and Hugh B. Hayve, I can’t even see your avatars. They’re just little x’s. I have an old browser, who ought to be retired.

Re: Helen Keller. To think that someone who was both deaf and blind from the age of 19 months could learn to communicate… I would never have thought of Anne Sullivan’s technique for teaching her, and would never have believed it would work if I had. Truly a “Miracle Worker.” Check out the Wikipedia article for a brief account.

Re Belly Bump Clip - What I like is that the two guys farther back are not even aware of what is going on. They are in their own little world.

I think this young naked lady and I will get along just fine. Life is to short to be well behaved.

    Re merger:

I hope they adopt the Comics.com interface. It’s so much better than the GoComics interface. Which, means that they will of course use the GoComics interface.

Using the one that’s better would clearly be the wrong choice.

And last but not least. The comic:

I do like the quote, but also remember that well behaved women are seldom burnt at the stake as well.

In the words of Nicholas Cage:

I don’t want to be remembered. If I’m being remembered it means I’m dead.

@oxnate: When people tell me they are happy to see me, I usually respond “I’d rather be seen than viewed.”

I dunno about the comics.com format. I remember that they’ve had some real service snafus over the past couple of years. In my experience, GenMod and the programmers at GoComics.com have been right on top as far as addressing technical issues and trying to keep the boards free of trolls.

ST2, worked with a guy who kept saying “bear with me on this”. It got really annoying so I made him a card with a picture of a stripper and her words were: “bear with me on this”.

If you get a chance to watch the “The Bad Seed” on DVD, makes sure to watch it with Patty McCormack’s commentary.

She’s very funny when she comments about herself as a child.

I started to watch it after the movie and ended up watching the whole thing again.

shytimes2 said, 1 day ago It bares repeating, GES Who.

Shytimes, if you have nothing new to say or bring to the conversation, why are you repeating yourself? Look where it got The Quigmans… http://www.gocomics.com/thequigmans and Get A Life… http://www.gocomics.com/getalife/2011/02/24/

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results…

I expect better of my comics. Why would I want to read the same jokes/stories over and over again. For that I have Garfield.
