What do you expect when you hand a monomaniacal idiot a powerful “get out of anything free” card?

It’s truly sad and unbelievable just how accurate this is.

This is what happens in a dictatorship. The US is slowly turning into a banana republic. Give Trump another term and we’ll well and truly be one. MAGA.

All thanks and unending praise to the God-king of America. His holy instincts are more infallible than the pope. His sacred writ of divine executive orders will create a evangelical heavenly kingdom on earth that white males must righteously dominate. Yea, did he not extoll his prophet Rush, smitten by devilcratic lung cancer, but still proclaiming the good news of intolerance, hatred, and bigotry? The new america is here. His angels will destroy the devilcratic party, and all others who dare stand in his glorious way. Sieg Trump!

Trump managed to void the constitution in the first half of his first term. Any pretense of republic is now in our past.

To pretend otherwise is denial indeed.

Every man, woman, and child should read two poems (these won’t hurt yer brain – unless maybe you’ve got a MAGA hat, and then you really need to read both! They’re written for you and one is definitely written by someone who has walked in your shoes and then some). The first is Martin Niemöller’s “Then They Came For Me.” He was a Nazi believer in WWII – and then he spoke up about something. The second is Niyi Osundare’s “Not My Business.” These poems describe the situation to a T. This administration is repeating history. What happens to followers of people (and I use that word very, very loosely here) like them has been also repeated virtually every time. It ain’t pretty. They get the mine, you get the shaft.

If the past is any indication.. you have not seen the worst that trump can muster. It will be interesting to see/hear the excuses from the Republican senators how they blew their chance to reign him in. The “I think he learned his lesson” won’t cut it at election time… one hopes.

Interestingly, the British monarch needs no passport, no driver’s license, and is immune from prosecution. Even for murder. And Pongo has a lean and hungry look in his eye.

How did Lamar Alexander ever get a reputation for being anything but a whited sepulcher? Remember the flannel shirts he always wore when he made his presidential bid? Well, maybe he can be excused for doublethink, since the whole “impeachment” thing seems to cross everybody’s wires. Especially on the “conservative” side (but not there exclusively) ignorance abetted by muddled thinking rules the day.

“Your honor, my client, the Bubonic Plague (in some circles known as the “Black Death”) had no IDEA that his actions were (in some circles) considered to be inappropriate. He apologizes profusely, and hadn’t you taken yourself to a hospital? (Just saying.)"
