So? Does that mean no president can ever be impeached and removed from office at any time or for any reason?
I’ve got to say, this is about as stupid as any Republican talking point that’s out there. How would the senate removing the Orange Idiot from office “nullify” the election? Is Mike Pence suddenly not the Vice President anymore?
In fact I’d be surprised if Pence doesn’t have contingency plans for pushing Trump out. Say, “I thought that I could temper his unChristian behavior and move America toward a More Godly Stance, but….”
How does impeaching Trump nullify the election? The next in line for the presidency is Mike Pence, Trump’s running mate who you also voted for. It’s still a Republican administration committed to ruining life for working Americans.
Excuse me? TRUMP LOST the popular vote. Get it straight, Gorrell.
Plus, the whole concept is nonsense. The Democratic Party actually cares about the fact that #45 is a traitor UNDERMINING the democratic processes you are claiming to honor with this cartoon.
The President was “elected.” And then the President then betrayed the people’s trust, lied, and lied more, broke the law, broke the law and boasted about it, suppressed evidence, intimidated witnesses, and rightfully was called to account by the Congress of the United States. That’s what we’re doing here.
This is an advertisement for ignorance. Impeachment doesn’t nullify the election or anyone’s vote. Trump was legally elected President in 2016. The last several years don’t change the legality of Trump being elected. Of course, the problem with America today is that someone can say or promote an idea that is this ignorant, and almost no one will recognize it.
And that deep abiding and willful ignorance is a big reason why Trump was legally elected.
Refusing to impeach Trump, or any elected official, on the pretext that “nullifying” an election is somehow wrong nullifies the Constitution. That’s what impeachment of elected officials is for.
You can still vote for a Republican candidate even if dolt 45 goes to prison for his crimes. Heck, the likelihood of having a REAL Republican candidate goes up significantly if Il Douche get kicked out for his crimes.
Constitutionally empowered due process nullifies NOTHING.
(BTW, he’s already been impeached. We’re now waiting for him to be removed from office because he’s a criminal and a traitor.)
Gorrell, you just refuse to understand that inviting foreign interference in our elections is cheating, and it means that your vote doesn’t count for as much as you think it does. Second, do you think the ‘helpers’ are doing it out of the goodness of their heart? The cheater now owes favors to entities that care nothing for our national security, and more than likely wish to damage it. Third, the House Democrats were content to let the next election decide if he gets to remain President, as they voted against impeachment three times. When Trump made it clear that he intends to cheat in the next election, they had no choice. They have a Constitutional obligation to try to hold him accountable for his actions. Unfortunately, the fact that no amount of evidence will make the Senate Republicans do the right thing, means that the best we can hope for is that the voters get all the facts by next November. I know none of this makes any sense to you as the only thing you’ve ever been able to do is parrot right wing talking points.
Not to mention the projection: Voter suppression by purging voter rolls, closing polling and registration stations, voting machines that cannot be audited, gerrymandering, all are standard techniques of the Trump Party.
And: collusion with Russian hackers, along with attacks on urban polling places and social media.
Election nullification is what Republicans do when they invoke 500 or so filibusters and refuse to confirm or even debate judicial appointments.
Funny, the 2016 election, where the “loser” had 3 million more votes than the electoral college selectee, had hundreds of thousands of voters in key states disenfranchised by Republicans removing them from the voter rolls, restricting access to new ID requirements to allow them to vote, reducing and eliminating voting locations in target communities, eliminating and reducing voting days to cast ballots.
This on top of a Russian campaign of misinformation, and who knows what they did when they hacked into voter rolls in several states. After all,you don’t have to manipulate the votes when you can alter the voter information and not allow the voter to vote at all because the information doesn’t match the person who shows up by changing things like middle initials, addresses, ages, etc.
What a bunch of whiners, don’t understand the Constitution, read things just so you can anonymously criticize, don’t see any humor for just what it is. Sad, sad. This one really torqued y’all off!
