when Patty talks about being sick from licking all the stamps, I thought of the infamous “Seinfield” episode (“The Invitations” https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0697712/?ref_=ttep_ep22) where George’s fiance passes away because of licking stamps…

Too bad our public “servants” don’t live by this philosophy.

Back in 1975, we gave my parents a 25th anniversary party. My job (I was almost 11) was stuffing, stamping, and sealing the invitations. My older brother let me use his room in the cellar – it was summer and his room was cool – and taught me the sponge trick. My mom almost caught me; thankfully, I had an open drawer next to me to throw everything in, and he had a tv in his room, giving me an alibi. (Side note: my little brother was 3, and his job was inviting the neighbors. He was proud of his job, but never gave it away to our parents.)

All of you are hypocriticals, except for Chuck.

Makes you appreciate our current stamps which just peel off the backing. You can buy envelopes which are sealed the same way but I’m too cheap. Of course, maybe the readers of GoComics prefer email.

One of the few real improvements in modern life – stamps you don’t have to lick

For a dumb jock, Peppermint Patty is an indecisive asshat and as usual, Marcie is the one to point it out.

Today’s strip is so spot on for current issues. This speaks to the universal appeal of Peanuts.

You know for years I always thought he was just as bad a manager as he was a player. But as I was reading the second and third panels I was thinking “yeah, but he’s a better manager”. Which naturally seemed wrong…. at first. Until I thought about something. Despite everything we see on the field, he must be a lot better manager than he seems. His team is the absolute worst team in the area and the few wins they have at this point either come from forfeits (they did have a two game win streak in ‘69 from Peppermint Patty and Franklin’s teams forfeiting) or from his not being there. And yet he still manages to convince everyone to play on HIS team with HIM as manager. He must be a better manager than a player if he can manage that, especially if he can convince Lucy to play even though she’s one of the chief reasons he’s looked down on.

That reminds me of the good old days of Stamps and envelops. Now it is just tapping few keys on the keyboard.
