Fiction writers are getting harder to unmask!
If I were to believe all of tje science fiction stories I’ve read, I would be half-way across the universe by now.
Well, you could always say “two-thousand-twenty.”
No, they can just move ahead 50 years (to the year of our lord 2070).
I love watching old Sci-fi and seeing how close or far they are from what is the actual now. I remember the old “if we could see the person we were telephoning”. We have that. Data pads, we have that.
This reminds me that I must finally decide if I’m going to say TWUNTY-TWUNTY or TWENTY-TWENTY.
(I hope the Germans don’t hurt themselves saying ZWANZIG-ZWANZIG.)
Well, we haven’t reached Zager and Evans levels yet.
I’m reminded of a song I use to hear as a boy , “In the Year 2525”. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKQfxi8V5FA
Does anyone else remember the cartoon show “Sealab 2020?”
They ran out of time in 2000!
