I can’t think of a response… Matt said it pretty well. Your government at work.

They need the money for the farmer’s bail outs. Give her a couple bushels of soy beans to feed her family. Anybody have any soy bean recipes? Soylent green is people.

80% of U.S. soybeans are GMO which many countries don’t want. China has moved onto other markets, including Russia, so that market will probably NEVER recover for U.S. farmers.

The mean-spiritedness of #45’s administration is appalling!

[ The Founding Fathers never anticipated this! ]

In MA, where I live, the government is investigating EBT card fraud. It’s rampant. There were 18 charges at expensive Hawaii hotels using MA EBT cards in 2019. At least one charge was for a round-trip ticket from Boston to Hawaii. An investigative report also found MA EBT card usage in LV and Alaska as well as other states.

When things like this make the news, you can imagine how people react. Clean up the fraud. That will take away much of the negativity towards these programs.

Let’s all pay homage to the Weasel in the White House and his Republican McMafia. They have removed 90% of the poor’s safety net and required them to work for the rest or starve. Unfortunately, the jobs available are either special technical occupations or minimum wage jobs in the service sector. In most if not all circumstances, people cannot survive on minimum wages. When will the 1% be done skimming money from the poor?

So many of these work require programs fail to take into account that a good number of people simply can not work forty hours a week.

Ok, this is technically not accurate… yet. The rule that was put into place puts work requirements on food stamps, which is very problematic. Other proposed, but not yet implemented, rules, would remove more people from the food stamp programs which could very well affect this person.

It is not just Walmart that needs to step up. MANY other big corporations manage to screw employees. Hey! Amazon.

It’s all part of the Republican agenda to roll back FDR’s social programs. Privatize (if not repeal) Social Security. Cut back on welfare (rather than focus on the abusers), food & housing assistance, unemployment benefits, a graduated tax, etc. The counter-attack began with Ronald Reagan and is on-going. While Social assistance goes down, corporate executive salaries skyrocket! The Wealthy Elite want it all, and they want it NOW.

That’s actually how I think many “conservatives” feel about food stamps and the like. Sad.

Really hard on those who live in towns or cities with NO F’ING JOBS because of other Bonespurs (Repubtard) policies! Krushchev said “we will bury you.” Putin says, “Trump is doing it for me.”

Closing a loophole that allows states to authorize SNAP without income verification.

    Oh, the horror, the horror.

Just exactly what hours of the day are you going to use to “learn the skills to get a better job” when you are already working two jobs just to pay for minimal food and shelter? Instead of worrying about the people who are working the system, pay enough to make working ONE job more profitable than being on welfare— problem solved. Then make the education to get a better job free— gets those with the brains to manage a better job out of the way so the ones who can’t can flip the burgers.

My cousin’s son inherited a construction business. He complained that “his” workers would work just long enough to qualify for unemployment, then not show up for work again until the unemployment ran out. Working off of Craig’slist and on unemployment they were able to provide better for their families than they could on the wages he was paying. He was sitting in a house that was worth over a million dollars, has probably more than that sitting in the bank, and he thought that THEY should be ashamed.

It’s a false economy. Every dollar in food stamps generates something like $1.75 in economic activity. It’s one of the best investments from that standpoint – but the cruelty is the point, right?

if the gov’t would screen those applying for welfare properly, millions wouldn’t be on it and would have to work for a living like us that are and did….i worled for 42 yrs and never had anything handed to me. because of the times we live in it is easier to scam than work because the dept that screens is understaffed and Trump would rather his friends, the 1%, get weathier while those who work suffer because of it.
