The only problem with a review like this is you only hear the complainers side of the story. In this case we know the owner is a very bad man and deserves the review but in the real world it happens all the time when the customer doesn’t know the whole story. I recently saw a review about the store where I work complaining about having to make a purchase of $3.00 or pay a 25 cent service charge to buy bus tickets at our store when paying by debit. As far as the customer was concerned we were trying to rip him off because bus tickets are $9.50 a strip and he believed we were trying to gouge him. The problem with bus tickets and debit is simple. Our local transit commission gives us 1% of ticket sales as our commission for selling bus tickets. so we get 9.5 cents for selling that strip of tickets. The bank charges us a fee per transaction of around 23 cents because we are a small business and have no negotiating power. So when we sell the bus tickets on debit we lose money on the transaction and the service fee or our profit margin on a $3.00 sale enables us to at least break even, as we sell the tickets as a service for our customers. But now we have a bad review and no way to refute it or at the very least explain our logic as most review sites don’t enable people to respond to reviews.
