Only thing I liked about business meetings. A break from work and phones.

Then they can break for lunch and then take an early quit! Planning pays.

I usually like meetings. They give me a break from working, and allows me to sit and recharge my thoughts. It’s rare that I actually have to listen and contribute.

I swear I’ve been in more than a few of Wiz’s meetings.

Conference calls on MS Teams are the best. The connection is usually such garbage that you can get away with the ol’ “I think I’m losing you guys…..”, hang up, and get back to work.

Of course when you actually feel your input is needed is when Teams wonks out for real. Sigh.

The only reason for a business meeting is that it has been a month since that last one. The only thing agreed on at these meetings is what donuts to buy and when to schedule the next meeting.

I used to work for a reinsurance company, manager of the dept. used to call meetings in his office and would answer the phone in the middle of them.

I always hated meetings. My attention span only lasted as long as my butt not hurting.

Meetings are the practical alternative to doing actual work.

The main reason to have a meeting is to do so at lunch time and have the company pay for your lunch; otherwise, most things are better accomplished with a few emails and a few impromptu discussions at desks.

I was OK with meeting as long as they were productive. Meeting for sake of having a meeting, I’d rather be working.

We had early morning faculty meetings, and then had to put in a full regular day of teaching.
