So, it IS all Mexico’s fault… will the current occupant claim that they will be paying for the clean-up, as well as his wall made out of the finest Swiss cheese???

Just as now, the resident ignores natural causes and chooses, based on his self-proclaimed superior logic, Governor Newsom of California.

Global Warming, a little more heat a little less rain = fire.

Trump offered to help Putin put out the wildfires in Siberia.

Trump has threatened to pull money to fight fires from California.

We have an evil traitor president who supports Russia over the USA.

Never vote for a Republican, they put party over country and evil Trump over party.

Not to worry. The Weasel in the White House has just guaranteed to make things worse in California as his Christmas gift to America. He is cutting funding for fighting wildfires and improving infrastructure. To really enrich the holiday spirit, he has continued to roll back climate control. Show you appreciation in NOvember 2020. V O T E ! V O T E ! The life you save may be your own. /s

Points extra for knowing that Santa Ana Winds and General Santa Anna are not one and the same, despite ol’ Zachary’s misimpression.

I always thought that the legendary Mad cartoonist Don Martin was the undisputed master of sound effects, but now Brian beats him with the simple yet elegant “gunshot! gunshot! gunshot!”

Let’s not forget the primary and predominant factor. 100 plus years of mismanagement by the State and Federal government.

The century old practice of extinguishing natural wildfires as rapidly as possible results in large areas of land that become more and more dangerous each year we interfere with the natural cycle. The average cycle for natural fires is 15-25 years depending on location.

When allowed to progress naturally most fires tend to be mostly ground level, clearing accumulations of deadfall and other debris. It opens the area for normal regrowth, allows small trees to flourish and complete the normal species life cycle, etc, etc, etc.

None of the above is new, none is controversial withing the scientific community.

As for PG&E, I wonder how the diversion of hundreds of millions of dollars into “green” energy projects impacted their maintenance budget. I contend that at least part of that money would have been far better spent on updating and upgrading the existing power grid infrastructure.

All public goods should be publically owned and operated. Privatization is the curse of American “capitalism.”

[ Psst! Teddy, don’t you dare tell him about El Niño. ]
