Thanks for the new word! Venality is a vice associated with being bribeable, cruel, selfish, or of selling one’s services or power, especially when people are intended to act in a decent way instead. In its most recognizable form, dishonesty, venality causes people to lie and steal for their own personal advantage, and is related to bribery and nepotism, among other vices.
Unlike the Hindenburg, filled with Hydrogen (a clean burning fuel), the GOP is filled with sewer gas and bile. Burns nearly as hot, with equally disastrous results but it’s source is pure(ha!)ly internal. I cannot help but hope that the party is burned completely and rises (if at all) like a phoenix, purified and ready to do the job that political parties are supposed to do: Make the republic a better place by offering us good choices about how to go forward.
Just one of the best cartoons in a while. I laughed out loud! My beautiful Dutch wife, who looks at things, well, (quite rightly), Differently, (happily), said she just doesn’t get how those republicans (in government) can go to work every day with “dry eyes “.
These are the dark days in the history of America! wish I could be around to read their version when they write about all the lies, deceit, treason, etc. Depends who does the writing…..
“Against the insidious wiles of foreign influence, the jealousy of a free people ought to be constantly awake; since history and experience prove that foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of Republican Government.”
“Real Patriots, who may resist the intrigues of the favorite, are liable to become suspected and odious; while its tools and dupes usurp the applause and confidence of the people, to surrender their interests.”— George Washington

“Throughout America’s adventure in free government, our basic purposes have been to keep the peace; to foster progress in human achievement, and to enhance liberty, dignity and integrity among people and among nations. To strive for less would be unworthy of a free people. Any failure traceable to arrogance or our lack of comprehension or readiness to sacrifice would inflict upon us grievous hurt both at home and abroad.”

“Impeachment should proceed from the misconduct of public men, or, in other words, from the abuse or violation of some public trust. If the federal government should overpass the just bounds of its authority and make a tyrannical use of its powers, the people must take such measures to redress the injury done to the Constitution. Caution and investigation are a necessary armor against error and imposition.”

Wimps, Pimps, Simps, Blimps – {rhyme}
This Republican blimp
carries {1} many a wimp
too cowed to do their duty,
and {2} many a plutocrat’s pimp
who procure their plutocrat’s booty. -
- They hover their blimp so closely
that the result is disaster, mos’ly,
when into Trump
they dangerously bump.
…In short:
Republicans tend to be wimps
who facilitate plutocrats’ pimps,
and get burned by regimes led by [simpletons] simps.

Past Due – {a rhyme}
May more then more of the Trumpite base
take careful note
that hoping in Trump is a wild goose chase, -
- and help us vote
him out. America again made great.
{His ouster has passed its past-due-date.}
If we don’t thusly vote,
that’s all she wrote.

He’s Not a Midas – {a rhyme}
No “Midas” is Trump when reigning as “King”; …
… it all turns to [censored]. Everything!!
Such trouble the Trumpians bring
when to delusion they cling, -
- their delusion that Trump is the breath of Spring.
… Coda:
The Donald he ain’t no Midas-like actor.
Instead, he’s yuugely a malefactor
{for his base’s fans as well,
as his policies give ‘em hell}.
