Iran is far larger (in both land area and population) than both Afghanistan and Iraq COMBINED, has a far better educated populace, has far more expansive resources and a much stronger military.

Going into Iraq in 2003, Donald Rumsfeld predicted it would take days, maybe a few weeks but certainly not months. We are still there 16 years later. We have been in Afghanistan even longer.

Now we have the chickenhawks of 2019, John Bolton (who must be so disappointed that he won’t be there for the war he was clamoring for) and Arkansas senator Tom Cotton, promising that taking out a far more massive adversary could be done in a couple of strikes — what we could not accomplish in Iraq with “shock and awe” that was a lot more than a couple of strikes.

We have heard this line before. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

They are crying wolf. Again. And it is a very hungry, expensive wolf, as they seek to offer up our brave young heroes as HUMAN SACRIFICES on the blood-spattered altar of greedy corporate profits for oil companies and the “defense contractors” of the “military-industrial complex” that REPUBLICAN Eisenhower warned us about.

War is expensive. Much blood, treasure and resources are expended. But the blood comes from constituencies considered expendable and the treasure flows into the pockets of those who own the “defense contractor” “industries.”

George Orwell warned of perpetual war. We are there.

That goes two ways. A despicable way for a “leader” to attempt ginning up personal support.

Iran is not the one pushing war. It is the US.

Lisa, how long did you serve? You have any war stories to share with us? Any Fallen Comrades to remember?

War with Iran means dead Americans. I am tired of dead Americans, especially in useless, endless wars.

You think the Russians are going to allow us to invade another oil producing nation and occupy yet another neighboring state?

Because Trump says he thinks it came from Iran?

Hair Groppenfuhrer’s children and relatives are flocking to recruiting stations as we speak to volunteer for a war against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Lisa, I think you drew the wrong character holding the lamp – the lamp holders are Tiny and his friends.

Idiot Trump tried to get the world to ruin Iran’s economy, so Iran will ruin the world’s oil economy.

I just watched “War, Inc.” If you’re not familiar with it, the military has been completely privatized. Almost a comedy, with tanks painted with their sponsors logos. Scary if you think on it too much.

^What’s even scarier is that all this distracts from the real crisis that affects all of us, climate change. While people are busy pouring more CO2 and particulates into the atmosphere with war activities, we should expect the the resolution might be on the order of a Pyrrhic victory for H. sapiens.
