Start with banning the sale of these weapons of war, then ban the sale of 5.56 and 7.62 ammunition. Pistols, hunting rifles and shotguns would be safe.
Saying the f word is more deplorable than school children, shoppers, movie goers, concert attendants, etc. being gunned down. Trump disciple analysis skills.
To all the people who are saying that we should ban assault-style weapons, I ask you this honest question. How do you propose we go about removing assault-style weapons even with a new law? Passing a law banning drugs never worked with the war on drugs and banning alcohol never worked with the prohibition. Another question. Do you trust the government enough to stop there? We already have places with bans on plastic straws and large sugary drinks or at least attempted bans.
It’s cute, how the gunnuts all puff up their chests and talk tough, when the reason those with multiple guns own them is because they are still those scared little boys that always ran away.
This should be an application of “eminent domain”, i.e., “private property … taken for public use,” with “just compensation”, and with the “public use” being either delivery to the military or conversion into scrap.
Ammosexuals will be better off just selling their assault weapons. Otherwise they will have a worthless sex toy they can only play with at home. Once the ammosexual takes an illegal assault weapon outside the home, they will be considered a domestic terrorist and dealt with accordingly.
Then why do we have laws banning murder? And driving without insurance? And human trafficking? Because society has to establish some norms, even though some members will always violate them
This is a great example of why I subscribe to some conservative cartoonists although I’m far from a conservative. It illustrates a divide between right and left—and takes Beto down a peg in a way I find totally fair within the genre of political cartooning. (As opposed to when a cartoonist “mind-reads” an opposing political figure in order to make them say something they never have and never would say, and probably don’t think, which is a cheat I see Bok relying on fairly frequently.) And the caption makes the whole thing thought-provoking rather than merely descriptive. Well done (despite my parenthetical criticism above).

Gun violence advocates HATE the idea of not having assault weapons. Er, excuse me, I mean assault STYLE weapons.
The NRA gets to set all the definitions in any discussion of gun violence.
.
Two things never to forget:
1. Even collecting data on gun violence is exactly the same as abolishing the second amendment and confiscation of all guns (except from criminals).
2. OBAMA IS COMING TO TAKE YOUR GUNS!

At least be honest. He did not say “Your guns.” He said, “Your AR-15s and AK-47s.” Totally different.

“Take the guns first, go through due process second”. But it wasn’t some Socialist Democrat who said that, it was Hair Groppenfuhrer in 2018.

The only bad thing about Beto speaking out was that it gave the gun nuts ‘ammunition’.
