    Monty should cut Buford some slack, after all it is his first day on the job.

    You could tell from Buford’s well pressed shirt, with natty pockets and epaulets, that he was new to this gig.

    The fact that Buford brought a tennis racket instead of a net should have been his first clue. {made you look!}

    Well of course he brought a tennis racket. This lake is catch and release. Why would a newbie like Buford want to touch one of those slimy fishes anyway?

    If Buford hands him a line, Monty’s likely to teach Buford a thing or two reel quick!

    When the sawmill closed, Buford didn’t have any retirement income…

    and no place would hire him… what with … you know… the supposed evidence about the fire.

    So he decided to live his dream…. and opened a pony ride in the mall.

    Who knew you have to ask permission, just to bring a few ponies into the mall….

    or that Macy’s wouldn’t want them in their elevator.

    That’s mean, thinking ponies could just use the mall escalator.

    Then the fishing guide thing occurred to him … what a great way to have a little income…

    out in the fresh air… on the lake.

    So he laid in supplies.

    But you can’t go fishing in the winter, not on Lake Ballard…

    so he’s going to teach oil painting then.

    He got a great deal on 50 identical “Paint by Numbers” sets to use for that,

    when he bought all the brand new fishing sets on eBay.

    All he has to do for either gig is keep a few days ahead of his students.

    A good guide does not need fancy equipment.
