@Mopman you’re famous! From the Comics Kingdom Mark Trail comments today: James, what you’re doing here this week is, in true Mark Trail fashion, really starting to blow up over on GoComics. One of the snarkers over there has been doing what he likes to call re-imaginings of the Gil Thorp strip. Yesterday he did a crossover with Mark Trail and Gil Thorp using yesterdays respective strips. It’s actually pretty funny and dare I say rather Ticeian to do a same but different Gil Thorp strip every day for years. Without the music, of course. Anyone who might want to check it out, get on Google, type in Mopped Up Thorp and that will take you to his site.
“Who are you, anyway? I know HvB said we should “stay in character,” but I’m just in this chump strip to get in shape for a Mark Trail tryout, so throw me the damn ball! That pit Milford No-Tell Motel where all us “stepfamilies” live doesn’t have wi-f! And I ain’t helping that damn school janitor , like Gil wants, either. Hey, how hard can that outdoorsy stuff Mark Trail does be anyway? I can wear plaid, and I dig redheads."
P1- Chet is sporting a pretty limp wrist there, hmmm…might we have the new head of the Milford Shower Booster club?
P2- Kid better get that hare lip fixed, looks like a late night commercial for charity
P3- Chet has a pretty nice hacienda there, almost looks like that new gated community in Tate’s Creek…another put of district yarn back-to-back?
Anybody notice that Whiz is the mayor of the CK Mark Trail board? He is their Ellis, he must rip of a dozen lame retorts on a single strip! No offense, Ellis!
An upperclassman with speed and skills. And step dad thinks GilPa knows what to do with such riches? Think of Jamal “The Ghost” Gaddis, Hamani “Hambone” Gaines and most recently Andre “I Must Pass the Shoe” Ruffin. Yeah, GT will make sure the kid stays fresh with his two or three carries a game.
Just because he’s not getting most of the reps doesn’t mean he doesn’t figure into Gil’s plans. What with all the “concerned about depth” talk. And speaking of plans, I hope you have plans to read today’s edition of Mopped Up Thorp.
