All of those answers are correct.

I have been working for a lame company for the last year or so, also finishing up plans for my retirement in a couple of years. A week or so ago I asked my advisor “What would happen if I retired now?” Turns out its a “Go.” I thought about it for a week and then walked in last Friday and said “I am retiring. . . . effective now.” I knew I was unhappy but didn’t realize how much it was weighing me down. Boy do I feel a whole lot better.

Most “rhetorical” questions do not have such self-evident “rhetorical” answers!
