Kitties don’t go outside at my house. No need for a cat door.

Cat door-storm door. Yep the same for sure. Mine like to climb the screen-had to change to heavy duty.

Let’s just understand one thing very clearly: the cat is not on the wrong side of the door. The door is on the wrong side of the cat. Get it straight, humans!

Some of our neighbors have cats. None of them are allowed outdoors because every night we can hear the coyotes howling.

Many years ago, our 10 year-old cat trained the painter to open the door for her whenever she wanted. She then expected that service from everyone for the next 16 years.

My niece was visiting with her toddler who’d just learned to “walk” – he got to the screen door, fell forward and pushed the bottom of the screen out. Our cat immediately jumped through the flap. The door stayed that way until we sold the house 15 years later.

When I had five cats one of the best things I ever did was install a cat door on the sliding screen. It saved me approximately a billions trips to the door to let one of them in or out several times a day. Although it did allow them to bring me gifts of the occasional live bird or snake. Fun times!

Don’t let indoor pets out. Otherwise you need to search them and clean them of parasites they pickup.

Geez, Janice, do we have to explain everything?

Not joking about this. My cat knew how to knock on the back screen door when he wanted it.

Living in California, when I tell people that the scars in my arm are from having gone through a storm door when I was a kid, I then have to explain what a storm door is. It’s like a screen door but glass, to keep the water off the regular door during a hurricane or the like.
