I once had a mailman bend a hardcover book in half to shove it into a four-inch-wide mailbox. Children, stay in school!!

I would have guessed it’s the reverse. A few years ago I had several big boxes sent by airmail while moving to another country. When delivered, the three boxes marked “fragile” were crushed, all the boxes with nothing special written on them were in perfect shape.

I had a friend who worked in the Post Office. He said that part of the issue was that mail handlers did not understand foreign languages. For example they thought “fragile” – ( pronounced “fra-jilli”) – was Italian for, “bounce off the wall.”

Make fun of the postal service all you want but remember it was them that proved Santa Claus really exists!

16 days and counting for a package traveling about 5 miles on city streets. Tell me about it.

Seems everyone has a horror story about the postal service. I have them also. But believe me…. there are thousands of employees that give it 100% to get letters and packages to where they belong in a timely fashion. All I can say is walk a route for 20 or 30 years and see how it goes. I’ve seen new hires quit after the first day.

I have had a valuable pkg come…one time bent to fit in mailbox, the other time, sitting by the curb. Propped up against the pole….of course I called and complained but does no good……our tax dollars NOT at work

Just imagine what they do to the parcels marked Fragile!

What a rookie! Those are the ones you bend.
