Trump is simply a racist. The women pictured have a difference of opinion. Nothing wrong with that. This is America, where we are allowed to have freedom of speech.
It is long past time for there to be enthusiasm in the Democratic Party. The Dems have rightfully been viewed as Repub-lite and corporate shills and progressives need to believe they are voting FOR something rather than just voting against a choice that is worse.
AOC does need to be careful about leaping to implying that Pelosi is racist. Pelosi needs to be careful about being dismissive. The Dems should NOT be in lock-step – new ideas need to be included but the new members also need some patience and stop shouting since they are scaring off moderates.
The Repubs have become lock-step and they are trying to rip apart the process. They hold votes open while someone goes around Congress twisting arms (Cheney was famous for that), and Mitch blocks votes just to obstruct. The “liberal media” spends their time on Trump’s racism and the House condemnation of it; they should be talking about the bills the House passed to protect elections that McConnell refuses to bring to the Senate floor. The RW is now blaming Dems for lack of funding for border facilities – where is the media that should be pointing out the RW that is benefiting from $750 per child per day (DeVos, John Kelley) while withholding supplies? Plus Trump kept insisting money had to go for a WALL even though other security measures are more effective.
AOC and Nancy Pelosi meet and talk together and will continue to do so. It would help if the media weren’t so avid in dramatizing every and any disagreement. It would also help if the media could come up with a program that didn’t put them in the position of Trump being able to wag them like a dog’s tail to distract and distort attention from his unfolding scandals and deficiencies.
The Squad is simply in more of a hurry than Pelosi. They’re young, she’s old; they’re in the racial/religious fight, she’s on the sidelines; they’re loud, assertive and very liberal while she’s quiet, assertive and moderate. If all these players were male, I suspect there would be much less hot air expended over their behavior.
