We just got the Echo. The other night, we were watching TV and Alexa said there was motion at the front door. I can see the door from where I sit in the living room. No one there. Opened the door and there was a small frog on the wall of the house. LOL!
A friend of mine hired a housekeeper who grew up in Europe. Said housekeeper suddenly shrieked, yelled at her that if she kept her place in such bad shape that it grew rats THAT big she QUIT!!! It was, of course, possum munching away in the trash can outside, giving that famous toothy grin when it looked up and saw her. A bit of explanation and she kept the job after all. With some trepidation.
We don’t have a lot of animals here – just some small rabbits every now and then. The wind, the rain, the snow turn on the lights. Us walking does not always turn them on and we have to jump up and down and wave our arms.

Is that a porcupine or a possum? Got a couple of young possums here. They turn my outside lights on every night on their way by.

Possums can see well enough without the extra light.

My favorite is the spider busily spinning a web that turns it on!

any ‘motion activated’ lights I’ve ever installed had adjustments so the critters would not set it off. Is that no longer available?

I petted an opossum at a nature center. Sweet creature named Ophelia. Very pretty and soft.

The neighbor’s lights got old real fast cause her lights light up my bedroom, and a passing raccoon will set off.
