The two sad parts of this cartoon are that 1. Most MAGAts won’t get it and that Steve is seriously understating tRump’s (and his followers) level of racism. It’s disgusting to watch all the republiCons twisting themselves into pretzels trying to claim that tRump isn’t really a racist to justify not condemning his tweets. The entire republiCon party is complicit in supporting his racism.
And the prime enabler of this travesty is Mitch McConnell. Without his unprincipled political activity we wouldn’t have Trump in the White House, and without his continued unprincipled activities, we could have a straight path to getting rid of Trump. McConnell is the polar opposite of Howard Baker (whose party no longer exists, thanks to Mitch).
Trump and his Republicons have embraced racism. They believe it’s their ticket to victory in 2020. The country will yet again be at another crossroads. People will chose what side of history they want to be on.
Thank you to Will Hurd of Texas, Fred Upton of Michigan, Susan Brooks of Indiana and Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, and Justin Amash of Michigan for joining Democrats to condemn the racism expressed by Trump.
Just remember that one of the requirement to join the clan was being a registered Democrat. Also remember that Nazi was short for National SOCIALIST Party. Jim crow laws were written and passed by Democrats. The Republican Party was started as an anti slavery party. Also the Republican Party passed the anti slavery amendment. Democrats keep telling us that minorities are too stupid to get a state ID.
