Trump administration policies of increasing support for Big Oil and returning to an emphasis of coal energy are literally pouring gasoline on the fire of accelerated anthropogenic (human caused) climate change. Apparently Trump will do anything to promote sales of gasoline, including pouring it on California wildfires, droughts, floods, hurricanes and tornadoes.
Trump is only about himself and about money and power and support from Big Carbon provides both.
And while Trump calls the climate crisis a “hoax,” he himself knows full well that it is real. We know he knows it is real because he petitioned the government of Ireland for permission to build a SEA WALL to protect against rising sea levels at his golf course property in Doughmore Bay, Doonbeg, County Clare, Ireland.
In the recent EU elections, the Green parties did very well, a new trend for them. And China is pushing ahead on developing technology for alternative energy sources. But the Republican party in the US is hiding their heads in the sand—-at least until it gets so hot they burn their backsides, but then it may be too late.
Take away the fossil fuel subsidies and invest in renewables. I’ve looked at getting solar panels, but it isn’t worth it for me (and this was the opinion of the solar expert). But I’d love to see programs initiated where there can be community investments – top of apartments, office buildings, parking lots.

pity this busy monster
pity this busy monster, manunkind,
not. Progress is a comfortable disease:
your victim (death and life safely beyond)
plays with the bigness of his littleness
electrons deify one razorbladeinto a mountainrange; lenses extend
unwish through curving wherewhen till unwish
returns on its unself.
A world of madeis not a world of born - pity poor flesh
and trees, poor stars and stones, but never this
fine specimen of hypermagical
ultraomnipotence. We doctors know
a hopeless case if - listen: there’s a hell
of a good universe next door; let’s go

We are rushing toward the 2050 collapse of civilization and no one is even talking about it.
Big egos with big money are making big mistakes and we will all pay the price.

G-20 froze out Trump the rapist on his insanely destructive climate demands.
Did you notice how they refused to even talk to little Ivanka as she tried to crash the party?

Mankind seems divided on this front, into three groups:
1: Don’t know about it, never heard of it, often scratching as hard as they can just to make a living.
2: Deny it because it’s inconvenient or cuts into profits; or/and because “someone else will (have to) take care of it.”
3: Accept it and start leaning in to try to do something helpful.
Our reasonably-like-comfortable survival depends on moving people out of the top two categories and into the third. Good luck to us all!
