Well, the labor and execution camps were indeed harsher than Bonespurs’ concentration camps, but how many kids will suffer a lifetime of PTSD and mental trauma?
Haven’t heard too many stories of immigrants, undocumented ‘aliens’, etc. not coming to the U.S. and working their butts off, even at menial jobs most U.S. citizens prefer not to do, to get ahead. The slogan over the gates would not be needed.
Historians, linguists, and survivors of concentration camps agree, we have concentration camps for these people. But by all means, use this as an opportunity to mock Ms. Ocasio-Cortez.
I wish someone would think of a way that we could all join together and change what’s going on… Like a March on Washington or or a petition just feels so futile to be outraged and not be able to do anything!!! The conditions that they have described in those concentration camps are horrible… For some of the adults it’s standing room only because it’s so overcrowded… If we aren’t all calling our Representatives or writing them about our outrage posting in this room is not enough… Words speaking we’re preaching to the choir here… We all care about these children… How come we do something about it???
Everyone reference 1984, the Book that should be required reading is Sinclair Lewis’ “It Can’t Happen Here” written in the 30’s. Folk, it is happening here.
There were some AOC-like people that condemned the actions of the Nazis from their beginnings The Nazis “solved” this “problem” when they started putting the dissenters in the camps too. Trump has often proposed suing and even imprisoning the press. Trump and Barr are pushing the idea that Trump is being persecuted by “deep state”. “Fake news” claims have been frighteningly successful.
AOC and millions of other people agree that the mere (continued) existence of these “things” regardless of name, is an affront to us and to our neighbors… and quite possibly constitutes a crime against humanity.
As one or the other of us have noted in the past, Martin Niemoller wrote an excellent poem on these types of atrocities against civilization and Humanity .. : when they came for… I didn’t stand up… etc etc etc… When they came for me… There was no one left to stand up. It was pertinent in the 1930s Germany. It is pertinent now in this country.

Incidentally, about the right’s faux poutrage that AOC should apologize to every Jew in the world?
I don’t need any apology. I know my history.
