My 9 year-old niece told me she was bored – she had just gotten off the bus on the last day of school 35 minutes before…

Kids should only be bored if A) they are in trouble and being punished, or 2) they live in a city where they can’t run around outside by themselves without Social Services having a conniption fit.

One more reason that I am a huge fan of year round schools. Every couple of months you get a 2 week break but you just keep on going. Imagine how much more we could accomplish.

I think every comic strip with kid characters has run this joke at one time or another.

But it’s a good boredom.

Hey, Wilberforce, your t-shirt says “Frodo Lives!” on it, why don’t you and your cousin binge-watch all of the Lord of the Ring movies this summer! (actually, that’s not a good idea)

I never saw any of them myself.

I have never been bored.

I have gotten very tired of this ancient “joke”, though, which seems to get repeated by numerous cartoonists every year.
