I finally found the strip where Oliver and Trixie sailed off into the sunset with a small crew. As I suspected, Trixie was beyond angry when she saw which ship they would be on.
to paraphrase a line from Carol Burnett “On today’s episode of AS THE STOMACH TURNS…”
Anyone else realize that its been going on TWO WEEKS now that there has been ZERO movement in this story whatsoever?
All we’re getting is rehashed versions of the same angle…
Portly Mrs. Warbucks went on a cruise “on a sailing ship” (as if theres any OTHER kind?) and was never heard from again.
Tell ya what, subpeona not only Ollie, but dig around to see if any of the CREW from the ship are still alive cuz we know that uptight Big Dollar Daddy aint spilling nothin!
Maybe Ollie was providing employment for “persons of questionable citizenship” on his little love boat (The Looooooove Boat, soon will be making another run!) and if theyre threatened with removal of their visa or deportation, maybe their lips will flap just a little bit more willingly than Ollie’s.
Oh, and just so you know… the two cruises i have been on (one in 1980, the week Princess Diana married Charles.. i went to Nassau and The Bahamas, the second was in 89 i believe, and i went to Mexico..Puerta Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas) i became very good friends with the waiter at the table next to us (the mexico cruise) during the course of the week. We kept in touch after the cruise was over, writing letters, and i even spent a week at his place for vacation a year or two later with his new wife and her three kids… but during our letter writing time he told me that pretty much ALL the ship’s employees were basically illegals, they worked for the cruise line but were subject to “removal or termination” at any time. There were staff from all over the world on that ship, he was from Wales and there were several from Italy, and Spain as well.
When he left the cruise line, he married and was legally able to stay in the States…so the “threat” of being deported and sent back home is pretty much a reality, havent heard from him in decades

TV series had a story called “secret of superman’s suit”-I believe-where he puts man and woman-two criminals- on snow covered isolated mountain top so they can’t reveal his identity. They both fell to their death trying to get down. Problem solved.
Lo, there is hope for moving this tale along: Gypsy Gay can probably be found, and if she has anything of use to say, maybe either B-B Eyes or Tracy will get to make a move to whatever square on this chessboard comes next. I do think the plot has become mired down in itself. I wonder if Mike has figured out where to go with it?
