The Republicans really are sticking with the “No collusion, no obstruction and Trump is completely innocent” line. This obviously not true. At a bare minimum Trump attempted to obstruct. I guess his base will go for their line. I just hope the independents don’t. The next election is in their hands.
Addison Mitchell McConnell Jr. has NEVER cared about the “Rule of Law”, one way or another. After all, he’s a Republican – their guiding philosophy is, “Whatever it takes…”
His sole, overriding goal in the Senate is to pack the American judiciary with “Federalist Society” judges, and Donald John Trump is providing excellent “cover” while Mitch accomplishes this goal.
By his own words, “Addy” has announced that, once the courts are all in the pockets of the Conservatives, republicans can afford to ‘lose’ both houses of Congress, as well as the Presidency for a couple of ‘election cycles’ and it won’t hurt. Democrats could elect A.O.C. President and maintain super-majorities in Congress and the established “Federalist Society” judges will simply strike down any laws they find “objectionable”!
At the risk of being tiresome, I will point out, once again, to Democrats, that we are in a “bull ring” and we are the bull. The Matador is the republicans – the red cape is Donnie John – and the sword underneath the cape is the Federalist Society Judiciary that McConnell is almost finished installing.
The cape is attractive and annoying, but ultimately harmless, while the Sword is easily hidden until it’s stuck in your neck!
The clip I saw had him repeat “case closed”, and he looked hypnotized (perhaps by the reflection of his eyes off the lenses of his “goggles”). Could it be that in Mr. Davies illustration, Vlad has rendered him his slave ? It would explain why he’s pulling the nails. He needs to lie in repose until Vlad summons him again. Lady Liberty’s lifeblood has not yet been sucked dry!
There’s one thing that the Republicans— in fact all Senators— are more loyal to than their party. That’s getting reelected. Actually, they are only loyal to their party because they figure they have a better chance of getting reelected if they are. The first instant that a Republican senator decides that they are more likely to lose if they support Trump and more likely to get reelected if they don’t, they will suddenly lose all memory of ever having known he existed.

Mitch is just riding ’round the herd and singing very softly. Them steers are sounding a little spooked and he is trying to prevent a stampede.
